De penningmeester heeft het jaarverslag en het beleidsplan gepubliceerd op de website. De kosten voor de website en benodigde software neemt de penningmeester voor eigen rekening, waarvoor dank namens het bestuur.

In verband met nieuwe privacywetgeving moet het bestuur formeel akkoord geven voor het gebruik van de namen van de bestuursleden. Ieder van de aanwezige bestuursleden heeft verklaard geen enkel bezwaar te hebben bij het gebruik van de namen op de website, in verslagen en andere officiële stukken.

Projectvoorstel om 70 zeer arme, oudere mensen te helpen
De Indiase stichting Jeevana Jyothi Charitable Trust die het project inbrengt geeft aan hoe ze geconfronteerd worden met de grote armoede van ouderen in Mattampally.De armoede wordt veroorzaakt door verschillende factoren: door de klimaatverandering wordt de landbouw bedreigd, door enerzijds grote droogte, anderzijds heftige regenperiodes. De kinderen van deze ouderen verhuizen naar grote steden om daar iets te verdienen, wat vaak nauwelijks genoeg is voor hun eigen onderhoud, waardoor ze hun ouders niet kunnen helpen. Een deel van de ouderen moet terugvallen op bedelen.
De Jeevana Jyothi Charitable Trust heeft een onderzoek gedaan naar welke ouderen het meest getroffen worden door grote armoede. Het gaat om 70 ouderen, waarvan 30 niet mobiel zijn. 40 ouderen kunnen voor hun voedsel naar het centrum van de stichting komen. De stichting zorgt voor een warme maaltijd ’s ochtends en geeft nog twee pakketten voedsel mee voor de overige maaltijden. De mobiele ouderen en vrijwilligers brengen de maaltijden naar de ouderen die niet naar het centrum kunnen komen.
Daarnaast geeft de stichting een set kleren, dekens, medicijnen en toiletspullen aan de ouderen.
De aanvraag van 8155,- euro betreft : 3 maaltijden per dag, kleding, medicijnen voor deze arme ouderen, voor een heel jaar.
We beseffen dat deze aanvraag groter is dan wij normaal aan u voorleggen. Gezien de grote nood en verantwoorde aanpak door de stichting durven we het project bij u in te brengen voor een bijdrage. U begrijpt dat we met iedere gift van uw kant gelukkig zijn, zodat we deze arme mensen kunnen ondersteunen.

Introduction to the project:
India is an agricultural country. 80% of the Indian population depends upon agriculture. Due to the uncertainty of the monsoons and natural calamities, agriculture has become gambling for the farmers. Thus, farmers become bankrupt and reduced to farm laborers and beggars. As these poor elderly people do not have any security in the form of any immovable property, jewelry, cash; their lives become vulnerable and miserable when they reach dusk of their lives.
Their children too are not financially sound to support them as they too have to struggle to provide basic necessities to their own families. The poorest of the poor and the barren elderly people become liable to the Indian society. There is no general policy of the government to provide health insurance to the poor sections of the society. In this backdrop, the poor elderly people do not have any other option than resorting to begging. Thus, they become destitute and depend on the mercy of the people to satisfy their basic necessities of food, clothing, medical care and shelter.
The prime reasons for abandoning the elderly people in Indian society:
a) Due to the excessive use of chemicals in farming, flooding, famine, and delayed monsoons the yield of the crops has drastically fallen. Due to the exploitation of the middlemen, the farmers are deprived of just prices for their crops. Due to these adverse reasons, the farmers and tenants incur extreme losses and become paupers. They dispose their small land holdings and pay off the crop loans. In this backdrop, many farmers commit suicides, and others become farm laborers or beggars.
b) Most of the elderly people in Indian society cannot be helped by their children who move down to towns & cities for meagre jobs where they cannot accommodate and take care of their parents.
c) Some of the elderly people are naturally poor and become too feeble to work and support themselves as and when they become old.
d) There are other elderly people who are barren and have nobody to take care of them when they become old, sick, and feeble.
e) In the case Mattampally, due to presence of several cement factories in and around Mattampally there is a prevalence of excessive dust pollution causing respiratory problems and leading to several types of diseases incapacitating them to support their own livelihood.
Jeevana Jyothi Charitable Trust, a ray of hope for such destitute:
With this backdrop, Our Trust made a through baseline investigation to find out the most deserving elderly destitute. We figured out 70 elderly destitute who are abandoned and rejected.
Meals on wheels:
Our baseline study revealed that there are 30 elderly adults who have got problems with their mobility. We treat them as homebound elderly. 40 elderly destitute can make it to our facility for the hot meals. These 40 elderly will carry food for the 30 homebound elderly.
Food items we serve the destitute at the facility:
We daily serve hot meals every morning around 8.30 A.M. We serve hot rice, one curry for them to eat at the facility and buttermilk. We pack two meals with alternate curry, one for the afternoon and another for the evening in the containers they bring along. We serve chicken curry every Sunday and provide boiled eggs every day.
Other provisions we provide:
We give sweaters and blankets in the month of December. We provide them with a pair of dress (For women a saree and a blouse and for men a shirt and a dhoti) every Summer. We provide them with toiletries in the first week of every month. With the necessities of food, medicines, toiletries, and clothing provided, they are given moral security & emotional bonding. We get the help of some volunteers from the village to take and distribute the items to the homebound people.
We plead your helping hand for the groceries and toiletries:
We plead your helping hand to purchase raw rice, Dal (lintels), Vegetables, Cooking oil, Gas, spices, Chicken, eggs, bathing soaps, and detergent soaps. These things are on a monthly basis.
Break-up of the Budget:
Every month a destitute needs Rs.1000/- And for 12 months * Rs.1000 =Rs.12000/-
We have 70 elderly destitute to take care throughout the year.
Rs.12000 * 70 destitute = Rs.840000 ($9882) (Euro8155)

Conclusion:
It is atouching and moving experience we underwent while doing the baseline study to select these 70 elderly destitute. A quarter of them are begging on the streets of Mattampally while others are unable to get a square meal a day. They are denied of basic human necessities of food, clothing, medicine and shelter. Our Trust wants to restore dignity of human life and boost their morale of these vulnerable destitute with your generosity and kindness. We wish to bring back smiles on their faces and security for tomorrow. Your donation will provide serenity and security till they breathe their last.

Aanvraag voor computers en training voor jongeren in Mattampaly, Telengana , India
Veel mensen, zo’n 45 %, in de plattelandsstreek rond Mattampaly kunnen niet of weinig lezen en schrijven, wat tot armoede leidt. Om de toekomst van arme jongeren en hun familie te verbeteren, wil de stichting Jeevana Jyothi Charitable Trust deze jongeren een opleiding bieden om met computers te leren werken. Deze computertraining is een uitgelezen kans om de arme jongens en meisjes nieuwe kansen voor hun verdere leven en dat van hun families te geven. De stichting heeft een gemeenschapsruimte die voor meerdere doeleinden gebruikt kan worden, wat deze jongeren de mogelijkheid biedt om de opleiding daar te volgen. Dit alles gebeurt onder leiding van de stichting.
Opzet van het project
Het doel is steeds een groep van 50 jongeren te trainen gedurende zes maanden. Wanneer ze deze computertraining afgemaakt hebben, neemt de stichting de verantwoordelijkheid op zich om voor hen banen te vinden. Voor dit project moeten ze 50 computers, tafels en andere zaken etc. aanschaffen.
Wie hebben er baat bij dit project
De meeste jongeren zijn vanwege de financiële problemen van hun ouders gestopt met hun voortgezette opleiding, waardoor ze nu ook geen zicht op een baan hebben en moedeloos worden. Door de computeropleiding kunnen ze hun talenten wél ontwikkelen wat belangrijk is voor hun toekomst en die van hun families. Want doordat zij zo een goede baan kunnen vinden, hebben ze weer perspectief in hun leven en kunnen ze zo ook hun arme families helpen. Rond Mattampally zijn er meerdere fabrieken en ook in de steden die in de nabijheid liggen, zijn goede kansen om in bedrijven aan de slag te gaan en zo een toekomst op te bouwen.
Budget voor het project.
Om 50 jongeren de training te kunnen laten volgen, zijn er 50 computers nodig. De stichting wil goed gecontroleerde tweedehands computers kopen, wat goedkoper is. De stichting zal heel dankbaar zijn wanneer ze de computers kunnen aanschaffen om deze arme jongeren een nieuw toekomstperspectief en kansrijke banen te geven, wat voor henzelf heel belangrijk is, maar zo kunnen ze ook hun arme families ondersteunen. Het gaat om een bedrag van 4854, – euro.
Het St.Franciscusfonds heeft de afgelopen jaren vaker met deze stichting gewerkt, die mede door Hans Wijngaards (broer van Aloys) is opgericht, toen hij in India als missionaris werkte. Ook Father Raja kent de stichting goed
Project SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR THE RURAL YOUTH OF MATTAMPALLY MANDAL

Literacy rate of Mattampally:
Mattampally village and Mandal has got the population of 45000 in 26 villages of Mattampally Mandal. And the literacy rate is only 55.98%. The total illiterate population in Mattampally mandal is 22576.Therefore we want to improve the situation of the youth and their poor families by encouraging the youth by teaching them about computer and its programs. This computer training will be a golden opportunity to the drop out boys and girls in this mandal. We have got a 40×90 multipurpose community hall wherein we can accommodate this youth for the computer training.
This project will be implemented in the Jeevana Jyothi community center, Mattampally.
what do you want to do – type of project:
We take drop-out youth batch by batch in 50s and train them for 6 months. Once they complete their training in particular computer courses, the Trust will take up the responsibility to find jobs for them. Therefore, we need to buy computers, tables & other gadgets, need to pay electricity bills and other miscellaneous things.
Direct and Indirect beneficiaries:
Direct beneficiaries are the drop-out youth of Mattampally mandal. Indirect beneficiaries are their families who get benefitted through the salaries of their employed sons and daughters.
General background of the beneficiaries.
They are rural youth who are mostly drop-outs. Due to the financial constraints, they were unable to complete their higher education and are idle in the villages not utilizing their potential. Once these youth are equipped with life skills, they will be able to materialize their potential and will become useful for themselves and for their families.
Job opportunities are at our door-steps:
There are around 10 cement factories in and around Mattampally mandal. There are various towns nearby Mattampally. Therefore as soon as a youth is trained in computers, there are ample job opportunities for them. These jobs boost the morale of the youth and provide a steady and constant income for their families in the near future.
budget outlay:
We request you to provide us with 50 personal computers enough for the 50 youth to take training. We will be purchasing assembled computers which are cheap and good for the first time handling.
50 Personal computers * Rs.10000 =Rs.500000 (Euro4854)
Conclusion:
We plead your generosity to donate Euro 4854 towards the purchase of 50 Personal computers for the training of these rural youth towards encouraging their skill development.
